Canon PIXMA MX380 Reviews– The MX range of Canon PIXMA all-in-one devices is aimed at small and large companies. The MX350, located roughly in the middle of the range, includes a fax function and an ADF in its set of functions and can download and print photos and plain paper documents.

Canon gives its machines a strong and sturdy appearance while maintaining a characteristic style. Unlike most inkjet printers with automatic document feeders, the scanner’s 30-sheet loader is integrated into the printer’s top, with a skirt tilted around it, which is the panel Control of the printer. When not in use, the ADF is folded in half to give a smooth appearance at the printer’s top.

The most unusual feature of this seemingly professional inkjet printer is the 62 mm color LCD screen located in the center of the Control Panel. This is ideal for displaying the copy settings, menus, and thumbnails of the photos to select.

This works well with the clickable wheel of the Canon brand, which you can browse to navigate through the menu options while pressing in the four directions for selection.

Four large function keys are for copying, faxing, scanning, and uploading photos, each with a lead in its rounded corner. A numeric keypad is available for fax composition and quick configuration of secure wireless connections. Two large illuminated keys allow black and color printing.

The only paper tray is a foldable 100-sheet backing, which allows you to create an output tray formed by folding the front panel. Integrating the paper cassette hanging on other PIXMA all-in-one would be nice, but you must find a compromise between price and price.

A hinged cover concealing three memory card slots is placed on the curved right edge of the machine. There is a PictBridge socket underneath, which also serves as a connection for USB drives.

In the back, plugs for USB and Ethernet connections, but many people will use the built-in Wireless Configuration wizard to connect directly to a Wi-Fi router. This is a simple process, even if you have to enter a password.

There are only two print cartridges- one back and the other in three colors- that attach themselves to the machine’s heads.

The software installation, included with Windows and OS X, is also relatively simple after you run the configuration utility from the CD. A useful suite of Canon copy and Scan software is also provided.

The datasheet shows speeds of 8.4 ppm for black and 4.8 ppm for color printing. Our five-page black text printing took 55 seconds, including 14 seconds for preparation, corresponding to a speed of 5.5 ppm.

The longer 20-page print resulted in a speed of 6.9 ppm, which is not far from the announced speed. The text document in color and color graphics took 2 minutes 1 second, i.e., 2.5 ppm, or just over half of the number quoted by Canon.

A color copy of a page from the flatbed scanner took 41 seconds, which is reasonable, but not breathtaking, and a five-page text copy of the ADF lasted 1 minute and 9 seconds.

Finally, the photo impressions in standard mode took a little over 50 seconds, while in optimal mode, the time went to 1 minute and 24 seconds. Good speed, but beaten by some rivals.

The quality of the print is good for an inkjet. The black text is clear and well-formed, with few traces of feathers or other ordinary paper artifacts.

The color graphics are also well reproduced, with good colors united, and again, few traces of black ink degrade.
