The colors were plentiful but not supersaturated. Some photos were flawed, but not too serious. Black and white photographs showed a trace of hue. One image showed some aliasing. In other words, a straight line tended to appear less than a razor. The text was suitable for school or general business, but not for formal reports or resumes. The graphic is fine for business purposes, but will not be used in handouts for PowerPoint. Ink density was uneven in solid areas and showed dithering (dithering). Some printers do the proper job of printing thin white lines in a test, but with the Pixma MG5120, the lines are almost invisible.

The Canon Pixma MG5120 all-in-one photo printer is a versatile MFP sold at very reasonable prices. The Pixma M P 280 is sold under $40 and has the ability to print from a preview screen and multiple media sources. If the speed and output quality is good, the Epson Stylus-X 625 would have been challenged for the Editors ‘ Choice.
