IJ Start Canon Pixma TS5030S Driver, Manual, Firmware Download– The Pixma TS5030S is a cheap, low volume model designed for home use. A primary difference between it and the Prismærke and more functional TS9020 and TS8020 (the latter an editor choice) is that TS5030S use five inks instead of six.

Unlike another editorial’s choice, Brother MFC-J985DW (an office-centric AIO) comes at the input level, none of which Pixmas comes with automatic document feeders (ADF), making them less suitable for home-based office use. Just like TS8020, TS5030Ss text and image output is very strong, but it does a bit of testing when printing dark fills and backgrounds in Excel charts and PowerPoint distributions.

Design and Features
Like the other TS series Pixmas, TS5030S performs three functions, printing, scanning and copying-and comes in three colors: black (it here evaluated here), white and brown. Unlike the other TS models, TS5030S has only one paper input source, one drawer that extends from the back of the chassis and has 100 sheets (or 20 sheets of premium photo paper). The TS9020 and TS8020 come with not only a rear drawer, but also a 100-sheet cassette front. In addition, at 5 at 14.7 at 12.5 inches (HWD) and weighing a small 12.1 pound, it is also the smallest of the bunch and thus petit enough to fit comfortably on most desktops. The control panel consists of a 3-inch non-touchscreen color that you navigate with four directional buttons and an OK button to carry out commands. There are four other buttons on the panel: power, back, stop, and Start. As with the other TS series modules, the Control Panel controls for easier use, but on TS9020 and TS8020 distributes the output trays as needed, and automatically tilts the panel upwards.

Unlike TS9020 and TS8020 Pixmas, TS5030S cannot print on Cds, DVDS and Blu-ray discs, and it also does not support (in the other two) near Field Communication (NFC) for peer-to-peer connections from your mobile device. However, Canon’s apps provide sufficient mobile connectivity. It is also important to note that all these TS Pixmas support the Instagrams 5-in-5-inch square photographic format. As has been done with other TS series Pixmas, as well as the relatively new G-series Pixmas, such as the Pixma G1200 MegaTank printer and the Pixma G3200 Wireless MegaTank All-in-one printer, Canon publishes neither the maximum monthly duty cycle nor the recommended Monthly print volume specifications for TS5030S.

Setup and software
In testing, it was setting up the Pixma TS5030S a snap. Packaging material consisted of only four pieces of tape, a plastic bag and two small Styrofoam-like seals to stabilize the machine in the box. Unpacking, installing ink cartridges and software, loading paper and aligning the printheads took less than 20 minutes.

The software package consists of Canon’s standard photo-centric PIXMA drivers and applications, which include My Image Garden and Quick Menu.

Print speed
Canon rates TS5030S at 12.6 pages per minute (ppm) for monochrome pages and 9ppm for color. I tested it over USB using our standard Core i5 testbed PC running Windows 10. When printing our easily formatted Microsoft Word text document, managed TS5030S 12, 1ppm, very close to its rating, and slightly slower than TS9020s 12.9 ppm and a little faster than TS8020 is 11.4 ppm. In addition, it has written the same text document 3PPM faster than the Epson Expression Premium XP-640 small-in-one printer, a competing five-ink AIO without an ADF. As with several printers we have tested, TS5030Ss speed record sink was greatly reduced when I included the results from printing our Acrobat, Excel and PowerPoint documents containing color, graphics and images-in this case (and as with the Other TS Pixmas as discussed here) with almost 75 percent. Its score of 4.5 ppm was a myth higher than TS9020s 4.2 ppm and TS8020s 4.4 ppm, but not much. It beat the Epson XP-640s 3.2 ppm with a little more, though.

TS5030S excellent ones when printing images, averaging a speed of 19 seconds when you print out 4-for-6-inch snapshots. It was a second faster than both TS9020 and TS8020, and 6 seconds faster than XP-640. In terms of TS5030Ss photo print quality (see next section), 19 seconds is fast.

Output quality
In addition to the standard tri-color inks (cyan, magenta, and yellow), the TS5030S comes with two black inks, one pigment-based and the other color-based. As mentioned, both TS9020 and TS8020 come with a sixth, gray, ink to print primarily grayscale images, although Canon says it also enhances color images. As on TS8020, the print quality was above average in general. The text came out dark and well shaped, even in small sizes (5 and 6 points). And when I wrote out photos on premium paper, the results were terrific, rivaling what we saw from not only the six ink TS models, but also the previous MG series Pixmas (which TS series replaces), such as the Pixma MG5720 Wireless Inkjet all in one.

Graphics looked good, for the most part, although I saw a little banding (a common pattern of weak striber) in dark fills and backgrounds, especially blacks. On the other hand, the brighter colors and gradients looked nice. TS5030S would not be the best choice for printing PowerPoint distributions, but there is no bickering with image and text quality.

Operating costs
Due to the fifth black ink, it is not possible to calculate a precise price per page for TS5030S, since it is not possible to measure when that cartridge kicks in. That said, when using the highest yield anchors, the page cost of using the four standards of cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink is 4.1 cents for monochrome pages and 12.7 cents for color. Supposing that with the other black pale, the price per page is slightly higher.

Running costs this high is not uncommon for fotocentric AIOer like this. Epson XP-640s per-page costs are for example, 4.7 cents for monochrome and 13.7 cents for color, and it also has a fifth ink ( “Photo Black “) which increases the cost per page in some scenarios again making it possible to calculate actual operating costs accurately. You don’t have to put up with these high ink costs to get great pictures, though.

Conclusion
Canon Pixma TS5030S Wireless Inkjet Printer The All-in-One printer is actually an all-in-one printer in that it prints documents, scans and copies, but for the most part it’s just conveniences – it’s essentially a photo printer. As their higher prices siblings, TS9020 and TS8020, missing an ADF and high operating costs make it inconvenient for anything but low volume home use. If you need more, consider a machine with lower operating costs, such as Brother MFC-J985DW, but you’re not going to get close to TS5030Ss photo quality, which is exceptional for the price.
