Canon PIXMA TS9550 Reviews Printers– Canon’s TS9550 is the range topping of the PIXMA range. It looks marvellous, with lovely high-gloss white systems and a huge touch control panel, but, at the thick end of? 200, it ruddy well ought to.Appearances away, it’s not immediately clear why the TS9550 costs twice as much as a good home ink jet. As you’d probably expect, it supports wired and wireless networks, can printing from an SD greeting card and can duplex print out, but that’s nothing you can’t get for a lot less.
You need to dig a little deeper to find what you’re paying for. Where cheaper models make do with four or five-ink print machines, the TS9550 uses half a dozen, which aims to incorporate great print quality on plain paper with exceptional photography printing. As with several PIXMA models, dark pigment ink is employed for bold text printing, while dye-based black, cyan, green and yellow inks deal with graphics and image designs. The TS9550’s sixth container is grey, which is employed for finer shade control in photographs and natural black and white images.
In examining it was soon clear that the TS9550 isn’t very outrageously quick: managing just 13. 4 pages every minute (ppm) printing textual content and 3. 8ppm on colour graphics, it could barely outpace the significantly cheaper PIXMA TS5050. In the highest possible quality, each 6×4″ photography produce took 1 min forty-five secs.
Timed over a wired network connection, tests were swift, with options taking six seconds and a 600dpi photography check out completing in 19 secs. However we noticed that, unless completely literally just been used, the scanning device needed a couple of seconds to warm up, rendering it slightly slower in practice. Mono photocopies completed in 13 seconds, and colour copies in twenty-five seconds.
High specifications may count for much except if they translate to great results, and in the TS9550 they generally do. Plain paper prints were good, with bold dark-colored text and strong shade graphics, while photographs were exceptional. Not all users will appreciate its slightly warm colour bias, but you can’t fail but be amazed at the immense acrimony roughness unsavoriness and detail on offer.
Scans were similarly impressive, combining crisp focus and great dynamic range to extract an unrivalled level of detail from original. There were a few of misfires, however: photocopies were dingy, while photographs printed from an SECURE DIGITAL card were rushed and disappointing.
The TS9550 gives the sort of prints and reads that will please lovers and photographers, but it doesn’t constantly delight. The moment more lowly PIXMA models are so capable, yet a lot cheaper, the TS9550 only makes sense if outright quality trumps any consideration of budget. If perhaps it doesn’t, the better deals lie further down Canon’s range.
