Canon PIXMA TS6100 Reviews Printers– Canon Pixma TS6100 offers a good range of features at a low price. To begin with, you get two paper trays-a 100 sheet cassette underneath and a vertical 100 sheet tray on the back-along with a duplexer for producing two-sided printouts. More importantly, Canon’s compact inkjet all-in-one produces high-quality images thanks to the printer’s use of both a colourful ink cartridge and a pigment ink cartridge to maximise print quality on slippery photos and text documents.
Canon Pixma TS6100 Design
Canon touts the compact size of TS6100. At 14.7 x 12.5 x 5.5 inch is the main body of this all-in-one rather compact. However, these dimensions do not include the paper trays. Inserting the paper cassette adds approximately 1.5 inch to the depth; Fold out the control panel at 45 degrees and you add another inch. Pull out the full extension, and the output paper sticks 9 inches from the main body. The second input tray, which you pull up and lean back, adds about 5 inches to the depth and about 7 inches to the height. Just be sure to include them when you calculate your space needs.
I would have preferred several physical buttons, since I found the touchscreen occasionally not respond, which requires more cranes to record a post. On the plus side, you can push a list in a menu without having to repeat a button on the screen.
TS6100’s Two paper trays allow you to keep two media types loaded if you want. Both trays contain up to letter format paper. By default, the printer asks to detect the paper size each time you remove the cassette or insert paper in the tray. It’s annoying, but you can turn off this warning.
Canon Pixma TS6100 Print speed
The TS6100 printed text documents very quickly, at 9.8 pages per minute. TS6100 took only 30.7 seconds to print our Femsiders text document, which consisted of 38.2 seconds average for other inkjet-all-in-ones. The only model we’ve looked at was faster was the Epson WF-2760, which printed the same pages in 30.2 seconds.
Using the duplex unit, the TS6100 printed text is documented at 3.5 ppm, which is fast for this printer class. In comparison, Canon’s Pixma MG3620 tested bilateral text documents with a poke of 1.7 ppm, while HP Envy 5540 cleverly entered the 3.6 ppm.
TS6100 became the fastest color graphics time in its class and prints our document on six sides in just 1 minute and 56 seconds or 3.1 ppm compared to the average of 2.4 ppm for inkjet. Most impressively, Canon’s all-in-one has printed a two-sided document to around the average speed of unilateral printouts, with 2.3 ppm.
TS6100 was also the fastest model for photo printing that ejaculated a letter format glossy print with high resolution in just 1 minute and 54 seconds. While the average for inkjets is 5:50, a few other models were not so far behind TS6100, like HP Envy 5540 (2:12) and Epson WF-2760 (3:23).
Copying and scanning speed
Copies arrived quickly, either in black and white or color. In both cases, TS6100 was the fastest model to date. The TS6100 also beat the average of 29.6 seconds. The Næstmeste competitor was Canon’s own Pixma MG3620, which took 27.3 seconds.
In 10.4 seconds, black and white scanning on the TS6100 was in line with the category average. However, color scanning with 600 dpi was significantly faster than what comparable models achieved. TS6100 made this scan in just 58.9 seconds and beat the average of the inkjet average (78.4 seconds) while it was only finished behind Pixma MG3620 (39.4 seconds).
Canon Pixma TS6100 Print Quality
Print quality from TS6100 was very high across the board. Text is printed with very sharp edges with an attractive weight of the letter forms. Graphics had a lot of detail, pleasing saturated colors and smooth textures. Printing on high quality inkjet paper improved the quality, making the text almost laser printer quality, while providing the graphics a little more color saturation and fine detail. However, using the TS6100s Duplex unit makes text print slightly more easily than when you print a sided.
Color copies from TS6100 were quite impressive, although some subtle details in dark areas were lost in translation. However, grayscale images of graphics were destroyed by coarse-looking midtoneovergange; They tended to reproduce a little too dark, with slightly clad textures.
Scanning on TS6100 was of very high quality, with richly saturated colors and fine details. The scanner could accurately reproduce subtle details in shadow areas.
Canon Pixma TS6100 Inkpris and yield
TS6100 delivers low tekstudskrivningskostnader at 6 cents per page with standard cartridges (compared to the category average of 8.3 cents). You can lower the tekstudskrivningskostnader to 5.4 cents per side using high yield black ink cartridges, similar to the average price of 5.6 cents per page.
Coloring pages cost 17.8 cents each, which is well below the average price of 22.7 cents per page for inkjet-all-in-ones. Using high draft cartridges, the price is reduced only slightly, to 17.1 cents per page, which is slightly higher than the average of 15.6 cents per page for other models. Canon’s Pixma MG3620 still offers the lowest price on the color page, with 13.3 cents per page.
The ink costs for printing 4 x 6 inch smooth photos are 32 cents each using the standard yield cartridges. Pixma TS6100’s High-yield cartridges lowers this price to 22 cents each.
TS6100 uses both a pigment black ink (for plain paper printing) and a dye black (best suited for glossy images). For 4 x 6 inch blank prints, the dye black ink gives you an estimated 376 prints, while the pigment ink sits relatively untouched and will last for approximately 2,305 photo prints. Conversely, the colourful ink cartridge is rated to last for 1,795 plain paper printouts with mixed text and graphics, while the pigment variety lifts heavily and lasts only 300 pages.
Canon Pixma TS6100 Start Time and Setup
TS6100 was quick to boot and illuminates its touchscreen to operate in just 4.5 seconds. It’s the fastest start up we’ve seen. In comparison, both Epson XP-420 and WF-2760 started in 6.9 seconds. However, this should not say that TS620 will put a copy in your hand 10 seconds later. The copy function was initiated for about 15 seconds longer than usual; To make a black/white copy took 24.6 seconds after first starting the TS6100, against 9.4 seconds, then the all-in-one was completely heated.
Canon Pixma TS6100 Software
Canon offers basic printing and scanning software with TS6100. I’m having trouble trying to make the scan function work on a Windows 10 machine that a Canon support engineer said could be due to security software interference. Similarly, I had trouble getting a great imaging software package called My Image Garden to perform scans on a Windows Vista pc.
The Pixma TS6100 offers a lot of bang for the money, with lots of features and high performance across the board. Its image quality is very high. And although color printing costs are pretty much average for an inkjet printer, text printing costs are low. The Canon ink cartridge all-in-one provides the right mix of speed and quality for people looking for a do-it-all printer.
